JD(S) district unit has given an ultimatum of one month to the Zilla Panchayat to complete the Jagar-Kolagame road work, which has been left unattended since several years. The party has warned of picketing the office if the demand is not met.

JD(S) along with H D Kumaraswamy Fans’ Club staged a protest on Friday by planting banana plants in the potholes on the said stretch of road.

Addressing the protesters, JD(S) District President H H Devaraj said that 10 km stretch from Muthodi to Kolagame is in pathetic state.

Though several requests were placed before the authorities it has not yielded any result.

“We are not staging this protest for personal gains. This is the last warning for the authorities to respond to genuine demands. In case the road is not developed, we will not allow the MLA to step into this region. Both, Zilla Panchayat and PWD offices will be picketed,” said the protesters.

They said that Tiger Project has unleashed fear in the hearts of the residents of Jagara hobli. They demanded dropping of the protest, which is clearly unscientific.

Kumaraswamy Fans’ Club President Holadagadde Girish and others were present at the occassion.
