<p>Belagavi: MP Jagadish Shettar said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who has been accusing BJP of destroying the economy of the state remained silent when the developmental works were announced. </p><p>Since Congress came to power development has come to standstill and any works in progress were approved during the tenure of BJP government. </p><p>"Siddaramaiah was an economist and if BJP did destroy the economy, he being an expert could have reformed it," Shettar said.</p>.Will speak on caste report after cabinet discussion on April 17, says Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah.<p>Shettar told reporters on Monday that Siddaramaiah did not his raise voice in the Legislative Assembly when opposition leaders accused his policies pf being wrong. </p><p>Developmental works benefitted all the MLAs in the state, but after Congress came to power there were no funds for development— a fact which has been acknowledged by the MLAs of the ruling party itself. </p> .<p>"Development in the state has been affected due to Congress policies and guarantee schemes and Siddaramaiah blaming me, B S Yeddiyurappa and Basavaraj Bommai is not acceptable. </p><p>"Siddaramaiah has presented record number of budgets, but has not been able to reform economy of state." he said.</p><p>"People in the state are fed up with the Congress government. During the Jan Akrosh Yatra, people showed their feelings and will take to the streets in the coming days," he added.</p><p>Shettar told reporters on Monday that Jan Akrosh Yatra will begin its second phase from Belagavi on April 16.</p><p>"BJP led NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared loans with interest taken during the tenure of Congress government. </p><p>"Economy of the country has become strong. Siddaramaiah instead of talking should work or else he should quit office and bring the state’s economy on track," Shettar stated. </p><p>"A police official fatally shot an accused involved in attempt to rape and murder of a girl at Hubballi on Sunday. </p><p>"Such police officials needed to be encouraged. Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar have not been able to bring crimes under control in the state. </p><p>"In Uttar Pradesh after BJP government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came to power, measures taken have brought crime under control," he said.</p> .<p>"Regarding caste census report, he said, it was unscientific as surveyors did not visit door to door. After 10 years, the report has been tabled due to pressure from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.</p><p>"MGNREGS works action plans have not been prepared. I have given proof of it to Gram Panchayat. Action plans had to be prepared by March 31, to get funds from Centre. </p><p>"I did not name Belgaum Grameen assembly constituency, but wanted to provide facilities for the people. Elected representatives should be pro-development irrespective of which party launches the works, he said.</p>
