<p>Bengaluru: Although the Department of Higher Education and the Medical Education Department were supposed to submit their respective seat matrices for various professional courses to the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) four days ago, neither has done so.</p>.<p>Given that the results of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2025 have already been announced, the delay in submission of the seat matrix is the only hurdle to the KEA preparing the ground for the counselling process. </p><p>After all, it is the seat matrix that provides student information on the availability of seats, across courses, in each college.</p>.KEA data theft case: Company says its credentials are misused.<p>“We need at least one week to upload the seat matrix once we have received it. We can’t proceed further without the matrix,” said KEA Executive Director Prasanna H.</p>.<p>A KEA official said that repeated pleas to the departments of Medical Education and Higher Education have elicited response. While the Department of Higher Education is busy compiling the matrix, which it is confident of submitting to the KEA very soon, it is unlikely that the Medical Education Department will submit the same anytime soon.</p>.<p>“Directions issued by the Governor to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) against including some of the senate members in any of the committees has landed the varsity in a spot of bother. For some time, there was confusion around finalising the seat matrix since some of these very same senate members had inspected a few affiliate colleges before the orders were issued from the Governor’s office,” said an RGUHS official.</p>.<p>However, it was made clear that the Governor’s directions could not be enforced retrospectively, thereby clearing the decks for the varsity to finalise its seat matrix. “We will share the matrix with the KEA very soon,” the official added. </p>
