The Centre has appointed Justice L Narayana Swamy as the Acting Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, following the elevation of Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari as a judge of the Supreme Court.
The appointment was notified by the Ministry of Law and Justice on Thursday. Justice Narayana Swamy enrolled as an advocate in 1987 and practised in the HC on services matters, land reforms, land revenues and PILs.
He also served as a government counsel between 1995 and 1999. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court on 4 July, 2007 and became a permanent Judge on 18 April 2009.
