<p>Malavalli (Mandya dist): Kirugavalu Police have arrested a man for his post on a social media platform allegedly defaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Malavalli taluk of Mandya district, on Friday.</p><p>Following complaints by the BJP and Hindu outfit members, alleging that Javed Pasha, 33, had used artificial intelligence (AI) and had posted defamatory images of Modi on the social media on May 8, Police brought him to the police station for inquiry and then arrested him.</p><p><strong>Outrage by locals</strong></p><p>Hundreds of BJP workers and members of various Hindu outfits gathered in front of Kirugavalu police station and raised slogans against the accused. It has also stated that a case has been registered against the person who posted such pictures on social media, at Kirugavalu police station. Posting such AI, fake or morphed images that disturb peace in the society is a crime under IT Act and BNS Act, it has stated.</p>
