<p>Bengaluru: Marsur gram panchayat has become the first to achieve the unique distinction of being a completely insured gram panchayat in the state. This was achieved through a social outreach initiative of <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/christ-university">Christ University</a>, under the banner of 'Suvarna Karnataka Abhiyaan' that was inaugurated in August last year.</p><p>Latha Kumari, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zilla Panchayat will present the award to Marsur gram panchayat on March 5. Ramesh (President, Marsur GP); Mrurali (PDO Marsur GP) would represent Marsur GP along with the members.</p><p>Through a country-wide nation-building initiative, Christ University is working towards insuring six lakh villages across the country by 2033. </p><p>The project moved to Jharkhand on March 10. The team, that has been instrumental is successfully launching and implementing this project, comprises Dr Anil Pinto (Registrar); Dr Tomy K Kallarakal (Dean School of commerce); Dr Biju Toms (Director School of commerce); Prof Jossy Peter (Insurance Coordinator); Dr Jerlin Jose ( National coordinator, Suraksha Chakra) along with the team of professors and students, who would represent Christ University. </p>
