<p>Hubballi: The Karnataka High Court Dharwad Bench, on Monday, dismissed the petition filed by Neha Hiremath murder accused Fayaz seeking transfer of the case to Belagavi, and ordered to start trial at First Additional District and Sessions Court in Hubballi.</p><p>On April 18, 2024 MCA student Neha Hiremath was murdered by her friend Fayaz Khondunaik at BVB College campus in Hubballi. </p><p>Following the incident, several organisations and political parties staged protests demanding capital punishment for the murder accused. Pacifying the irate public, the state government had assured justice in 120 days and handed over the case to CID.</p>.Neha murder: One year later, no sign of special court.<p>Meanwhile, advocates Z M Hattaraki and Arzoo M Mulla filed a criminal petition before the Karnataka High Court Dharwad Bench, demanding the transfer of the case to Belagavi district court citing local threat to Fayaz, and no advocate in Hubballi was coming forward to argue his case.</p><p>Advocate Raghavendra Muttgikar and associates argued on behalf of the respondent Neha Hiremath’s father Niranjanayya, and urged that the trial should be held at the First Additional District and Sessions Court in Hubballi.</p><p>Niranjanayya Hiremath, father of Neha said, "after hearing the case, the HC dismissed the petition of Fayaz and ordered the trial to start at Hubballi court."</p>
