<p>Margaret D’Obrio, founder of popular NGOs Deeds (Development Education Service) and Valored (Value Oriented Education) passed away in a private hospital in Bangalore after a brief illness. She was 75.<br /><br /></p>.<p>A social worker par excellence, she was active in many social developmental works in the region. <br /><br />While Deeds imparts training and legal advice for women to strengthen the women force, Valored has been working in the field of primary education in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. <br /><br />It is working towards making education more effective, value based and having social development tools apart from helping students to become self-reliant. Wife of scholar Desmond D’Obrio, she leaves behind her two sons.</p>
