The meeting was moderated by film journalist Sadashiva Shenoy. </p><p>“The Kannada film industry is in trouble and faces several challenges. Post-digitalisation, films are being released in large numbers. The number of producers and directors is increasing, even though they do not have experience. Due to this, films are being made without using artistry and are missing. As a result, audiences are not coming to cinemas,” they said.</p><p>The dignitaries said the number of films from experienced directors and producers had also reduced. They stressed the need for diversity in cinema content. </p><p>“Star actors, actresses and technicians are getting opportunities, including reality shows and advertisements, along with cinema. Therefore, their interest in cinema is decreasing,” the stakeholders said.</p>
