SC status: Govt to include Madivalas

Rs 50 lakh for the development of Machideva Mutt

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Machideva Mahasamsthana Mutt at the first Akhila Bharatha Madivala community’s awareness meet in Chitradurga on Sunday.

He said, already the Madivala community had been included in the Scheduled Caste in 16 states in the country. Similarly, the Government would review the matter of including the community in the Scheduled Caste in the State also.
An amount of Rs 50 lakh will be released in the first phase for the development of the Machideva Mahasamsthana Mutt, established by the Madivala community.
The State government is committed for the development of Madivala community. It is ready to provide basic facilities for them. An amount of Rs 20 crore has been earmarked for the development of Madivalas, Kshatriyas, Kumbaras and other communities, Yeddyurappa said.

The final decision on the taluk reorganisation will be taken by the Cabinet sub-committee, based on the previous reports submitted so far, he said. He also appealed to the people to forego all agitations related to taluk reorganisation.
Vishveshatheertha Swamiji of Udupi and Shivamurthy Murugha Sharana of Murughamutt also spoke on the occasion.
