<p>Mangaluru: RSS Sarsanghchalak <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/mohan-bhagwat">Mohan Bhagwat</a> on Saturday said the real purpose of education is to make good and responsible citizens of the country.</p><p>Speaking after inaugurating the annual sports meet at Kalladka Srirama Vidyakendra, he said, "Education is not merely for filling stomachs; it is for enlightening minds. Education should lead to practical knowledge. One needs the wisdom to use education properly, and for that, values are essential. Education should be accompanied by wisdom."</p><p>He further mentioned that the country is slowly implementing the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/nep">National Education Policy (NEP)</a>, which was formulated after an unprecedented process of consultation with people. "Education helps shape one's character," he said, adding "Sharing knowledge with others is the greatest form of 'guru dakshina.' Knowledge should be utilised to strengthen the nation and protect its people."</p><p>Addressing the concept of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which views the entire world as one family, he said that education should foster independence and enable individuals to contribute meaningfully to society.</p><p>RSS leader and president of Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, stated that the RSS, founded by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, has grown into the largest organisation not only in India but across the world. "Several national leaders have contributed to the growth of the RSS. Mohan Bhagwat has dedicated his life to the welfare of society through the RSS. He worked selflessly for the organisation and became the Sarsanghchalak. Bhagwat is not just the Sarsanghchalak of the RSS, but also the leader of every Hindu," Bhat said.</p><p>The students performed various activities, including Yogasanas, created mind-blowing formations with lamps in hand, forming the symbol of the swastik, Shishu Nritya, Jade Kolata, Karate, Nritya Bhajan, Mallakamba, Rotating Mallakamba, group dance, fire adventure, stunts with bicycles, balance on bikes, hula hoop, and more. The students also formed a display to mark the RSS entering its 100th year of existence.</p><p>C R Mukund, the National Joint General Secretary of the RSS, was also present.</p>
