Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje on Friday fretted over the repeat of the clash that erupted during Tipu Jayanti in Kodagu in 2015, with the influx of a large number of anti-social elements from the neighbouring Kerala state for the harmony meet organised by CPM here on Saturday.

Karandlaje, who launched a scathing attack on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who is scheduled to address the public meet at Nehru Maidan, exhorted the police to stop the visiting chief minister from entering the district.

She recalled that it was due to the atrocities committed by people ferried in large numbers from Kerala during maiden Tipu Jayanti in Kodagu, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Kuttappa lost his life.

She said the police will be directly responsible for violent incidents, if any.

Claim

Karandlaje claimed that all arrangements are being made to send thousands of vehicles carrying goondas from Kannur and Kasargod side from Kerala to the CPM meet, while some among them have already entered from diffrerent borders of the district.

She said Vijayan, who has a bloody past, is a prime accused in a murder case reported several years ago.
