Volunteers clean Sundekere river

Volunteers of Sundekere Nadi Ulisi Abhiyana cleaned Sundekere river on Sunday. The river supplies water to a majority of the wards in Mudigere.

The volunteers had created a group "Sundekere Nadi Ulisi" on social media last year. A large number of volunteers carried out the drive between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm.

The volunteers removed the weeds growing in the water. They also removed the garbage dumped into the water body. The retaining wall that was damaged due to rainfall was also repaired.

At least 10 tractors load of garbage was collected from the water body and was sent for disposal.
