<p>Davangere: <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/karnataka">Karnataka</a> Chief Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/siddaramaiah">Siddaramaiah</a> promised that H Kantharaj Commission report on caste census will be discussed in the next cabinet meeting.</p><p>He spoke at the Kanakadasa Jayanti celebrations organised by the Kuruba community Association and Siddaramaiah's supporters in the city on Sunday. </p><p>He said that there has been a long-standing demand for the implementation of the report and the government has already accepted it. "We will present and discuss the report in the next cabinet meeting."</p><p>He also claimed that the government supports the caste census. It will help identify the poor and oppressed classes in the society. </p><p>"The government needs to formulate schemes based on this. All this is necessary to bring equality in society." </p>.Don't give political colour to ministers' dinner meet: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah.<p>"Therefore, our government will make sincere efforts to implement the Kantharaj Commission report," he assured.</p><p>Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh stated that Siddaramaiah will continue as the Chief Minister for the next three and a half years, and the Congress government will remain in power.</p><p>Chitradurga-based Bhovi Gurupeetha Head Imadi Siddarameshwara Swamiji said that the Chief Minister stands for the backward, Dalits, and oppressed communities. </p><p>"We stand with him. If those who provide food are in power, we can also be at peace. The oppressed communities must empower Siddaramaiah."</p><p>The event was attended by leaders from various communities, including Muslim and Christian religious leaders.</p>
