The boy was studying at the Government Higher Primary School at Kurubageri.</p>.<p>On Wednesday morning, Kumar attended school and was in the classroom when he suddenly collapsed. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but died on the way.</p>.<p>According to his family members, the boy was suffering from cardiac issues and was treated at Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences in Mysuru. Nagarathna, who had lost her husband, works as a labourer.</p>.<p>A state transport corporation driver died of a heart attack at Lakshmeshwar in Gadag district on Tuesday. </p>.<p>S P Lakshman (53) is survived by his wife, son and two daughters.</p>.<p>He had developed chest pain on Tuesday night and was rushed to a private hospital in Hubballi for emergency treatment. He had secured a gold medal from the Chief Minister for accident-free driving for 15 consecutive years.</p>.<p><strong>Covid vaccine is not the cause of heart attack: Minister </strong></p><p>Kalaburagi: Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil said people should not panic as the Covid vaccine is not responsible for the rising heart-attack cases in the state. </p><p>Speaking after inaugurating a heart check-up camp organised for working journalists by Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research here on Wednesday he said many institutions including the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) have conducted studies and no evidence has been found to say that the Covid vaccine is behind the heart attacks. </p><p>He said the government has decided that deaths due to heart attacks are a notifiable disease to be reported to the public health organisation. </p><p>He said that a post-mortem examination will be conducted the next day after the deaths. This will reveal the exact cause of death. An expert committee has been formed in Hassan due to the high number of heart attacks and the government will take action after the report is received he added.</p>
