<p>The unit-II of the multi-crore Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KNPP) in Tamil Nadu is prepared for a criticality test next week.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The much expected commercial operations in the unit-II are all set to begin this year end. <br /><br />As more than 98% of the physical progress work has been completed, the KNPP authorities on Wednesday told DH that the criticality test before commissioning will begin in the last week of June.<br /><br />“We are ready to do the criticality test. However, we are yet to obtain written clearance from Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB),” a senior official from KNPP said. The fuel loading operations in the second unit was done in May 2016 after the pre-service inspection of equipment, said the official.<br /><br /><br /></p>
