<p>Bengaluru: The engine of the Palace Queen Hamsafar Express caught fire in the Bengaluru South district on Thursday morning.</p>.<p>No casualties were reported and no complaint was filed, according to sources in the railway police. </p>.<p>The locopilot stopped the Mysuru-Udaipur train (number 19668) just four minutes after it crossed Channapatna at 11.20 am due to smoke and fire from its locomotive (40343/WDP4D/BGKT). He informed the control room, seeking a relief locomotive. </p>.<p>A team of firefighters was deployed and the fire was doused with the help of the railway police. It was subsequently attached to the train, which left the spot at 12.28 pm and arrived at Channapatna at 12.45 pm. It left the station at 2.15 pm. </p>.<p>The fire caused considerable delay in the journey. The train reached the KSR Bengaluru station at 3.35 pm, as against its scheduled arrival time of 12.15 pm. The train is still running late and is unlikely to make up for lost time. At least two trains were also affected as a result. </p>.<p>A railway official said a technical issue appeared to have caused the spark, leading to smoke and fire. </p>.<p>“The engine has been sent to the diesel loco shed in KR Puram for further examination,” he added. </p>
