Shiv Sena (UBT) continues to target Modi, says BJP is 'Nakli Chanakya'

Mumbai: Describing BJP as 'Nakli Chanakya” and hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of Indian-Pakistan conflict vis-a-vis agreeing for a ceasefire, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday asked why United States President Donald Trump was allowed to be become 'Sarpanch' and ‘Chaudhary' and forcing truce.

Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP, who is a close aide of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, said that ceasefire is a clear violation of the 1972 Shimla Agreement, which does not allow third-party intervention in the Jammu & Kashmir issue.

Raut’s attack comes a day after he called for an immediate all-party meeting and a special session of the Parliament to discuss the current India-Pakistan conflict.

"Modi has time…he is an experienced man…he will definitely address the country before the Bihar elections, maybe a month before, he is a very smart person. He will definitely address people, country before Bihar, West Bengal elections,” said Raut on when would the PM make a statement.

“Who made Trump the Sarpanch?... Did we make him Chaudhary? Our armed forces are capable, even when our political leadership is weak,” he said, hitting out at the BJP-led Centre.

"Our armed forces were in 'josh', they could have reached Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, who stopped it? We will not get this opportunity to finish Pakistan again,” he said, adding that the celebrations in the neighbouring country are happening because of Trump. “Our people seem to have come under pressure, this is not correct,” he said.

When pointed out that BJP leadership acts like “Chanakya”, he said: “The BJP is nakli (duplicate) Chanakya...who gave Trump the right to interfere in Kashmir matters.”
