<p> Bollywood music composer and singer Aadesh Shrivastava, who composed for generations ranging from Amitabh Bachchan to Ranbir Kapoor, passed away here early on Saturday. </p>.<p><br />The man, who had turned 51 on Friday, was battling cancer over the last few years.<br />His last rites were held at the Oshiwara Crematorium on Saturday afternoon. <br />Shrivastava is survived by wife Vijeta Pandit, an actor, and two sons Anivesh and Avitesh.<br /><br />Members of the composer’s family along with his brothers-in-law and music composer duo Jatin-Lalit were present by the bedside at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital when Shrivastava breathed his last.<br /><br />The noted musician was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in December 2010 and underwent a prolonged chemotherapy treatment. <br /><br />He was in the hospital for the last one-and-half-months after the cancer relapsed.<br /><br />Composed songs<br />Shrivastava composed music for Bollywood films like ‘Chalte Chalte’, ‘Baabul’, ‘Baghban’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’, ‘Rajneeti’ and many others. Hit numbers like ‘Kya Ada Kya Jalwe Tere Paro’, ‘Shava Shava’, ‘Suno Na Suno Na’, ‘Mora Piya’ showcased the brilliance of the man’s music which catered to a universal audience. He was also known for collaborating with international artistes like T-Pain, Akon, Soulja Boy, Wyclef Jean, Norah Jones, Queen Latifah and Shakira.</p>.<p><br />Shrivastava, who hailed from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, got his first break as a music composer with Bappi Lahiri in 1990 in Madhuri Dixit starrer ‘Shailaab’. <br /><br />The same year, he also turned a playback singer when he sang ‘Ali Baba’ in Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Agneepath’. He married actor Vijeta Pandit also that year.<br />A number of Bollywood celebrities mourned Shrivastava’s death and bade him an emotional farewell.<br /><br /></p>
