<p>Yandamuri Padmavathi, mother of Raghunandan, who is alleged to have murdered 10-month-old Saanvi and her grandmother Satyavathi in Pennsylvania in the US, has urged the authorities on Sunday in Visakhapatnam to punish him in India if he had committed those murders. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Appealing through the media, she said Raghu was intelligent and that she did not quite understand why he had committed those murders. “My son (Raghu) has no financial problems,” said Padmavathi.<br /><br />Stating that he should undergo punishment if he had committed the crimes, she said he should be given punishment in India. “I can only offer my sincere apologies to the family on behalf of my son, who committed these two murders,” she added.<br /><br />However the investigation in the USA paints a different picture. In his confessional record Raghu claimed his insolvency and that he had recently borrowed $1,000 from a friend Chandu Tummala who told the Inquirer that Yandamuri, who married in April, had just asked for a loan. “He asked me for $1,000 he said his wife was pregnant and that he wanted to bring his mother-in-law and father-in-law to the United States.”<br /><br />Meanwhile, the body of Venna Sathyavathi was brought to her Kudumalakunta village in the Hanumanthanipadu mandal of Prakasam district. Villagers paid tearful tribute to the body of 61-year-old grand mother. “She went to take care of the granddaughter. But who knew she would die along with the baby,” said Konda Reddy, Satyavathi’s husband. <br /><br /></p>
