<p>The RSS has axed its Goa in-charge Subhash Velingkar as he was found to be working against the interests of the state BJP government.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The RSS decided to dump Velingkar after he publicly attacked the BJP government for not fulfilling the electoral mandate.<br /><br />Two days ago, the RSS functionary held a press conference to announce that he, along with Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch, of which he is a convenor, will float a regional party to contest the Assembly polls due early next year. He claimed that the RSS unit of Goa will side by him to take on the BJP.<br /><br />He accused the government of betraying the trust of the people by not enforcing use of regional language as a medium of instruction in its primary schools.<br /><br />He also did not rule out tying up with the BJP ally in the state Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party if the latter snaps its ties.<br /><br />Sangh involvement<br />An RSS source said that the Sangh took the decision to withdraw Velingkar from the responsibility given to him since he had told them about his decision to float a new party.<br /><br /> In RSS, a functionary cannot hold a position and at the same time participate in politics as well, sources said. He will, however, continue to be a member of the RSS. <br /> <br />Earlier, the BJP, sensing that all was not well with the party, tasked Union minister Nitin Gadkari to supervise the Assembly polls in Goa. <br /><br />The RSS and the VHP are also not happy over the government’s decision to send a delegation under External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to the Vatican for Mother Teresa’s canonisation on September 4.<br /></p>
