<p>Ahmedabad: In the latest case of Gujaratis getting killed while attempting to enter the United States illegally, two children from Mehsana drowned while their parents are said to be critical after a boat they were traveling in capsized off the San Diego coast earlier this week. The family has been traced from Mehsana district. </p><p>According to reports, the father is said to be in a coma, while the mother is also hospitalised. On Wednesday, the authorities suspended the search operation to trace a 10-year-old girl after she was presumed dead. </p><p>The family has been traced in Anandpura village of Vijapur taluka in Mehsana district. A neighbour who requested anonymity said that the family had left the village some six months ago. He said that the family had suffered loss in business which might have compelled them to risk their lives to reach the US. </p><p>Locals said that the family had first flown to London and from there, they may have gone to Mexico with the help of human traffickers. They were travelling from Mexico when their small boat overturned in the sea. Law enforcement officials recovered three bodies, including the boy. Four others were rescued and hospitalised, including the children's parents.</p><p>In the recent past, several such cases of people from Gujarat being killed in their attempt to cross over to the United States illegally have been reported. The case of four members of a Gandhinagar family, who froze to death on the Canada-US border, had hit international headlines.</p>
