Production of alcoholic beverages increased by about 23.8 per cent during the period between 2015-16 and 2018-19 and the sector contributed to around 1.5 million jobs and generated around $48.8 billion in sales revenue in 2019, the study noted.</p>.<p>Yet India is unable to become a large exporter like Chile, Argentina or China, it said.</p>
