In a world where food decisions are often based on convenience and deadlines, places like Forage remind you to slow down and be mindful of what you intake. The quiet place, tucked in an obscure bylane in busy Indiranagar, is sure to satiate the cravings of both healthy eaters and those who wrinkle their noses at the mere mention of it.

We can’t skip the ambience without a mention. A sprawling house has been converted to a restaurant but without losing the cosy charm it initially had. Indoor plants, tasteful decor, comfortable seating and a quiet air await you here.

Even with the introduction of a new menu recently, the options may seem a bit limited but the management is clear that the emphasis is on quality rather than quantity. So be prepared to shell out a little more for your meal too.

The Pom-pure pomegranate juice is a great way to cleanse your palate and prep yourself for the meal ahead. You can also opt
for one of their fresh
salads like ‘Fig And Feta’, ‘Quinoa Salad’ or ‘Beet Rocket’.

The quick bites section comprises unique dishes like ‘Green Bottle Spaghetti’, ‘Aubergine Crostini’, ‘Shroom Wraps’, ‘Sea Bass Bites’, ‘Peppered Sausages’ and more.

The ‘Green Bottle Spaghetti’ comprises well-cooked pasta strands and a delicious sauce while the ‘Shroom Wraps’ is a filling combination of tasty mushroom wrapped in thin rice paper.

The ‘Sourdough Bread’ with Olive Tapenade is a good choice for the eclectic flavours while the ‘Wonderballs’, pork and beef meatballs in coconut cream sauce, made famous by Ikea’s amazing cafeterias truly lives up to its name.

You can also opt for ‘Blackened Fish’, succulent sea bass sautéed with cherry tomatoes and basil, or ‘Beef Fillet’, a customer favourite.

In the main course, do ensure to try the ‘Jalapeño Mushroom Pasta’. It is healthy pasta with zero cheese and no cream, comprising lot of veggies and pasta, bound together by lemon juice. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was light and full of flavour. We recommend ordering one of their wines to fully appreciate the flavours of these dishes.

In desserts, choose between ‘Chocolate Mousse’ and ‘Basil Panacotta’. Don’t let the tag of sugar-free deceive you — these sweet treats can give their counterparts a run for their money in terms of taste and presentation.

We saved the best for the last — the exotic sounding ‘Rose Green Tea Kombucha’. It is fermented tea which packs quite a punch with its refreshing zing. Quite a good way to round off your meal.

Forage is located on 318, 6th Main Road, HAL 2nd Stage, Indiranagar.
