55% voting in 4th phase of Jharkhand polls

'There was no untoward incident reported from anywhere and the polls ended peacefully,'' Joint Chief Electoral Officer A K Sinha said here.

The 14 constitutencies where polling was held today were Bahragora, Ghatsila, Potka, Ichagarh, Majhgaon, Manoharpur, Chakradharpur, Torpa, Sisai, Gumla, Bishunpur, Simdega, Kolebira and Lohardaga.

There were 233 candidates, 20 of them women, in the fray in the fourth phase today. With this, polling in 65 seats have been completed.

Election in the rest 16 Maoist-affected constituencies will be held in the fifth and final phase on December 18.

Results for all the 81 seats will be announced on December 23.
