As BJP plans a personality-centric election campaign for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the party has out come out with a rap named "Banda Apna Sahi Hai" that eulogises the leadership credentials of "Mr Right" Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Youth Congress also came out with a video rap titled "Apna time aayega" with Rahul Gandhi as the protagonist.

The videos were based on the a rap from the Ranveer Singh- and Alia Bhatt starrer movie Gully Boy.

The video about Mr. Right is nearly three minutes long and describes Modi as a "dynamite". It alludes to the surgical strike at Uri, the Ujjwala scheme and the scheme for toilets.

"The rap India had to wait for decades to tap! Banda Apna Sahi Hai," the BJP’s official handle tweeted, describing Modi as a man who "has changed the way to run the nation… who has raised the head of Indians in the whole world, one who had left his house and family and held the hand of 125 core people, who does not take leave for vacation, works for 18 hours."

The BJP had banked hugely on its social campaign in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. This time around, the party hopes to reach out to young voters, and believes this can be done using rap music as a medium.

The Congress, which had totally lagged behind in 2014 when it came to social media campaigns, is slowly making its presence felt.

They have used the hastag #LoveNotHate and the tagline "The Accidental Chowkidar: Chori chori, Chupke Chupke" to taunt the prime minister.

In a caricature, Modi was shown dressed in a Chowkidar's clothes.

The Congress also came out with caricatures of BJP leaders like Amit Shah, UP Yogi Adityanath, Nirmala Sitharaman, Smirti Irani, and Piyush Goyal, and resumed its attack on the Rafale deal on social media as well.
