Deb clarifies: Civil engineers have experience about administration

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has now come up with an explanation about his viral statement on pursuing civil service that civil engineers would have "experience about administration."

In his response to ANI, Deb said: "I didn't say mechanical engineers mustn't go for civil service. I said that civil engineers should join civil services as they have experience about administration."

Earlier, he had said that mechanical engineers should not join the prestigious civil services of the country.

"Those who are from a mechanical engineering background should not opt for civil services. Society has to be built up. Civil engineers have this knowledge... Because those in the administration have to build a society."
