Parliament is likely to adjourn on Friday, a day ahead of schedule after concluding the debate on Budget, sources said on Wednesday.

Initially, the House was to adjourn on February 15 but it was advanced to February 13, a Saturday. MPs would have to return to attend Parliament for a single day after spending time in their constituencies on the weekend if the House assembled on February 15, which is Monday.

Following a suggestion for early adjournment, floor leaders of Rajya Sabha have agreed to adjourn the first leg of the Budget session on Friday. Sources said Lok Sabha is likely to follow suit.

The second leg of the Budget Session is to start on March 8 and end on April 8.

A decision was taken earlier to sit on Saturday to conclude the business. However, on Tuesday evening, the idea to adjourn the House on Friday was mooted as there was not much business except for the debate on Budget.

Rajya Sabha has already passed two Bills after clearing the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address. However, Lok Sabha was lagging in business as the Opposition had disrupted the House for four days demanding a separate discussion on farmers issue.

The Motion of Thanks could be taken up for discussion on Monday.
