Impressed by the charms of Singapore and its growth Model, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to send all the party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and even Municipal and Zilla Parishad members to the island country on a study tour.

According to initial reports on the all-paid trip, leaders will visit Singapore in batches. KCR wanted the elected representatives get acquainted with the best practices in governance.

He has requested none other than Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to personally conduct a training programme to the team from Telangana.

KCR was in Singapore and Malaysia last week to invite the industrialists to invest in the new state.

After his return, he said he was impressed by the rapid strides in progress made by the city state in the last four decades to emerge as a leading economic superpower in the world.

He then made a point to reach Putrajaya, the Malaysian capital, by road and praised the architectural beauty of the capital city, Kuala Lumpur.

According to sources, a team of Telangana MLAs will leave for study tour after the budget session of the Assembly, which is to begin on September 10 and will last for at least three weeks.

In a press release from CMO, the chief minister said Singapore was just like any other third world country in the 1960s but has since transformed into a thriving hub of tourism, thanks to the policies implemented by their first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.
