Telegram now offers Clubhouse-like live voice chatroom

Despite being available only on Apple App Store, Clubhouse is the most happening audio-only chat room application in the industry. It has registered more than 12 million downloads on iPhones and will soon be making its way to the Google Play store.

But, the longer the delay, may harm Clubhouse, as it will lose the appeal among consumers. Already, rivals Twitter have started a similar drop-in audio chat feature Spaces chatroom and Instagram is also close to releasing its own audio room on both Android and iOS platforms.

Now, Telegram has joined the race by launching live voice chat. The interesting thing about this new feature is that is almost no limit, as millions can join the audio room.

"Admins of channels and public groups can now host voice chats for millions of live listeners. No matter how popular your talk gets, new people will be able to tune in. It's like public radio reinvented for the 21st century," Telegram said.

Also, admins can record audio for storage or forward it to members who couldn't join the live voice discussion.

Furthermore, admins of public groups and channels can create invite links that open the voice chat right away. Also, separate links can be made for speakers and listeners.

Another value-added feature coming to the Telegram is the Raise Hand. Yes, this is similar to the one we see in video conference apps. It will allow members to let the admin know that they want to speak.

With the new update, Telegram will allow users to cancel a forward, which goes into the wrong channel.

Telegram will also allow users to resume the voice message from exactly where they had left the messenger app for other work.

Also, Telegram says users will now get the option to join with their personal accounts or appear as one of their channels. This will benefit celebrities and public figures to avoid drawing too much attention to their personal accounts.

Also, for the Android Telegram version, the company will allow users to assign a custom function for left swipe gesture in the chat list-- some include: archiving chats, pinning, muting, deleting, or marking them as read.

And on iOS, all these swipe actions are always available, depending on which way you swipe.
