The second Parikrma Champions League inter-school (under-16) football competition will be held at the Bangalore Football Stadium from October 3 to 7.

As in the inaugural edition, 16 teams will fight it out for the honours. Out of these 13 are from Bangalore while one school each from Mumbai, Goa and Kerala completes the tally.

The tournament will be played on a league-cum-knockout format. The teams are divided into four groups and the top two from each group will advance to the quarterfinals. The league and quarterfinals will feature halves of 25 minutes each while the semifinals and final will have 30-minute halves.

A few members of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning cricket team will inaugurate the tournament. “We hope the event will be a greater success than last year’s,” said Shukla Bose, Founder and CEO of Parikrma Humanity Foundation, during a press meet here on Tuesday.
