TN, Nagaland surge ahead

Tamil Nadu and Nagaland booked their place in the quarterfinals of the National inter-state tennis championship on Wednesday after recording comprehensive victories in their league matches here at the DLTA complex.

Tamil Nadu overwhelmed Kerala 3-0 while Nagaland brushed aside Mizoram by an identical scoreline. 

Tamil Nadu's Rishabh Dev Raman and Vijay Sunder Prashanth won both their singles matches with ease to put their side in the last eight.

Nagaland's Keneisetuo Whourie clinched a three-setter in the singles and later combined with Vilasier Khate in the doubles to keep the slate clean against Mizoram.

Results: Gujarat bt Tripura 3-0; Tamil Nadu bt Kerala 3-0; Chhattisgarh bt Assam 2-1; SSCB bt Andaman Nicobar 3-0; Manipur bt Bihar 2-1; Nagaland bt Mizoram 3-0.
