CM gets cold reception in Bellary

Last Updated 13 November 2009, 18:27 IST

District Zilla Panchayat president N Rudregowda was the only prominent BJP leader present at the airport. Even Deputy Commissioner Shivappa, who was among the reinstated officers as part of the compromise formula, did not turn up at the airport on health grounds. However, SP Seemanth Singh, who returned to his a few days ago, was present at the airport.

Meanwhile, both Yeddyurappa and rebel camp leaders played safe and avoided making statements that could further add to the problems in the party.

On Speaker's post, the CM said a decision would be taken in consultation with other leaders after Jagadish Shettar joins the Ministry. He said the BJP Legislature Party meeting would meet in Bangalore on November 18.

A day after stating that their group was on the look out for a 'good director' to provide a climax, Revenue Minister G Karunakara Reddy, who chaired a review meeting in Gadag on flood relief works, refused to take any questions on the present political situation in the State.

In Hubli, Speaker Jagadish Shettar preferred to keep mum on his future plans and current political developments. He said he would not comment on anything for the next two days.

Appear together

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Revenue Minister G Karunakara Reddy shared the dais at a public function in Koppal on Friday, first time after the Bellary Reddy brothers openly locked horns with the chief executive of the government.

Yeddyurappa, Ananth Kumar, MP, Karunakara Reddy, District In-charge Minister Govind Karjol, Minister for Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee Shivaraj Tangadagi  attended the stone-laying ceremony for providing permanent shelter to the flood victims of several villages of Gangavathi taluk under the 'Aasare' scheme in public-private partnership.
