Minister for Minor Irrigation C S Puttaraju, on Tuesday, warned the Congress that it should rein in its MLAs, else “the JD(S) will not be responsible for future disasters.”

“There is no question of us joining hands with the BJP. But, the Congress leaders have been issuing statements that the going is not smooth with the JD(S).

“Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is forced to implement projects proposed by former chief minister Siddaramaiah,” he said.

“The people had appreciated the good governance of the JD(S), when it had formed a coalition government with the BJP in the past.”

Comparing it with Krishnadevaraya’s administration of the Vijayanagar empire, Puttaraju said a few Congress MLAs had now gone beyond control, which has upset
Kumaraswamy.

Nagamangala MLA Sureshgowda said the JD(S) leaders did not seek favour from anyone after the Assembly elections.

“They (Congress) are not inevitable to us. We are inevitable to them. The Congress is treating us like step-children. They should stop issuing insulting statements. We are ready for anything. Our main objective is to keep the communal party (BJP) at bay. Hence, we joined hands with the Congress. We will not be quiet, if the situation continues,” the minister
warned.
