It was also a rare opportunity for the fans to catch a glimpse of their favourite actors, right at their doorsteps.

Brightly dressed and well on time, all the big names from the Kannada filmdom assembled at the Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce (KFCC) and set their destination to Koramangala. People gathered around Shivarajkumar for autographs and other actors made use of the opportunity to raise funds from them. The actor, along with Adhi Lokesh walked on the Koramangala main road, entering all retail outlets to collect donations.  At one point of time the stars even climbed BMTC buses to raise funds from passengers.  The bus drivers and conductors too obliged the stars.

Public thrilled
“I wish I had brought my camera cellphone today. I could have at least taken some pictures,” regretted the bus driver.  An amused aged lady in the bus too contributed her might. Later, when she was told that Rajkumar's son Shivarajkumar had spoken to her, she was thrilled.

“It was an overwhelming experience. More than the amount we raised, the fact that everyone came together for a cause is worth noting,” KFCC president Dr Jayamala told Deccan Herald.

Artistes Sudarshan, Doddanna, Ambarish, Devaraj, Darshan, Puneet Rajkumar, Vijay, Sadhu Kokila, Prajwal Devaraj, Adarsh, Ajay Rao, Jayanti, Leelavati, Hema Chaudhary, Sudharani, Anu Prabhakar and Tara, producers Rockline Venkatesh, Sa Ra Govind, directors S V  Rajendra Singh Babu and others participated in the padayatra.

Precautionary measures
The police had taken precautionary measures, deploying their men around Forum Mall and other areas. They had a tough time warding off fans who wanted to touch their favourite stars.
