On Vijayadashami, effigies of Ravan were burnt across the country. 'Ravan Dahan' signifies the victory of good over evil. Vijayadashami marks the ends of Navratri. As Durga Puja festivities also concluded on Vijayadashami the idols of Durga were immersed.
