Alva’s student to compete in Vishwa Mallakamba

As many as six students, including a student of Alva’s College in Moodbidri, from India have been selected for the Vishwa Mallakamba Championship at Dadar in Mumbai on February 16 and 17.

Veerabhadra Mudhol is the first student from Karnataka to represent the country in Vishwa Mallakamba Championship. Athletes from 12 countries will take part in the championship.

A special training for the members of Indian contingent will be held in Hyderabad till February 15. Apart from Veerabhadra, two from Maharashtra and from Tamil Nadu have been selected.

Mudhol is pursuing BCom (first year) at Alva’s College. Alva’s Education Foundation (AEF) offers free education to 75 students who are well-versed in Mallakamba. They are given free training in Mallakamba and education at the college.
