The film featuring Chiranjeevi Sarja and Ramya in the lead roles hit 104 screens across State on April 15. It is produced by A Ganesh, who incidentally hails from the city of palaces.

Ganesh told media on Saturday, with the matinee show on (when he was addressing press) the film has recorded a collection of over ` three lakh and if the trend continues, by Monday a clear picture will emerge.

Admitting that IPL has put on hold many films from tumbling out of the box, Ganesh had a different story to tell- barring second show, especially when Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is out playing on the field, when the attendance at theatres is thin,  the audience are thronging three theatres where the film is being screened. With a day left for Sunday that guarantees ‘houseful audience’ for new releases, Ganesh was hopeful of seeing some early profit.

For Chiranjeevi Sarja (no need to mention that he is popular star Arjun Sarja’s nephew) it was his maiden attempt at khaki- playing the role of a cop. Obviously deriving some inspiration from his maternal uncle, who has successful played the role of a police on screen, Chiranjeevi went ahead and performed with finesse.

“It was indeed a challenging role for the very reason that many in the past from thespian of Kannada filmdom Dr Rajkumar to Shankarnag, many effervescent actors have donned the role with ease. I was apprehensive whether I can do justice to my role”, said Chiranjeevi.

Ravishankar (younger brother of Saikumar), for whom it’s his third release in a row in a
span of two months, is a successful graduation from dubbing artiste to villain, new found baddie of sandalwood. “I was dubbing for my brother in Tamil, as most of the films he acted in Kannada were dubbed in that language”, said Ravishankar. He had no qualms to admit that unknowingly he emulates the mannerism of his sibling.
