The Ramtek assembly constituency in Maharashtra's Nagpur, once a Congress bastion that later became a saffron citadel, is witnessing an interesting electoral battle this time as a former minister contesting as an independent has posed a challenge before the major contenders.
There is a fight between two ideologies in the country. On one side is I.N.D.I.A. and on the other side is BJP-RSS. We say that the country should be run by the Constitution and Narendra Modi says that the Constitution is a hollow book, nothing is written in it. This book may be hollow for the people of RSS-BJP, but for us it is the DNA of this country.
"Who is responsible for the decreasing population of Adivasis? You (CM Hemant Soren) are responsible for this. If BJP forms government in Jharkhand, we will drive out all the intruders one by one. These infiltrators snatch away our youth's employment, they marry the daughters of Adivasis to get hold of their land. Hemant Soren can not stop them, he is more interested in making his vote bank with the help of these infiltrators," says Union Home Minister Amit Shah

"Does he even know his facts? They have been in power for 2.5 years, before that they were in power for 5 years. They are talking about 26/11 now. What we have achieved is for everyone to see. In the last eight to ten years, the Congress was not in power, barring the two-and-a-half year of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) rule, he said, adding that the government is now being helmed by BJP and its allies.
With only four days left for the Maharashtra assembly elections, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has urged voters to reject those who have spoiled the state's cultured politics by breaking parties and families and engineering a social divide.
In a public appeal published in Marathi newspapers on Saturday, the veteran politician stated that restoring the state's pride and glory was the need of the hour.
Addressing a public gathering in Ormanjhi, Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge said, "RSS and BJP are the ones who divide the country and the poor. Now they are saying, 'Batenge to Katenge'... Modi ji says 'Sath hai to safe hai'... Safe from what?' You should first tell us what you have done for the country... The children of Dalit, Adivasi, and backward castes don't get scholarships. They only come and give speeches."
In the wake of complaints lodged by the BJP and the Congress amid the ongoing Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday shot off two separate letters to Congress and BJP chiefs Mallikarjun Kharge.
