Google, earlier this year in August, launched the advanced generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) Gemini 2.5 Flash Nano Large Language Model (LLM), code-named Nano Banana, in the Gemini AI app.

It was an instant hit among users worldwide, including in India. People tried creating 3D figurine images of themselves and also generated photos with retro outfits of the 1970s.

Now, the search engine giant is almost ready with Nano Banano 2.0 (internally codenamed GEMPIX 2). It is powered by a new advanced Gemini 3 Pro visual AI Large Language Model (LLM) capable of understanding complex text descriptions and producing high-quality images with more accurate results than the current version.

iLounge, which seems to have accessed information on the Nano Banana 2.0, has revealed that the new AI model is a significant upgrade over the predecessor. It can churn out 2K quality photos and is upscalable to 4K.

The pictures generated by the Gemini AI app with the Nano Banana 2.0 update will be of professional quality and will be contextually accurate with the text description than the previous version.

For instance, if the user asks the Gemini AI app to create an image of a family portrait with iconic landmark India Gate in Delhi. It will be able to generate geographically correct images with a stone monument in the background and natural-looking trees.

Also, users can feed more information like the clothes of the people, skin tone, and even add more details to be added to the picture. The app will be able to improvise it further and deliver a photorealistic image.

But, it should be noted that all the images generated by the Gemini app will have a watermark and also the invisible SynthID.

There is no word on when exactly Google plans to roll out the Gemini 3-powered Nano Banana update yet. But, it is expected to happen before the end of December 2025.
