Google, earlier this year in August, introduced the advanced generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) Gemini 2.5 Flash Nano Large Language Model (LLM), code-named Nano Banana, in the Gemini AI app.
It was an instant hit among all users worldwide, including in India. People played with the feature-rich Nano Banana-powered photo editing feature Reimagine. It can turn any mundane-looking photo into a fun, engaging piece of art.
Now, the search engine giant has announced the launch of the Gemini 3 Pro AI model-powered Nana Bana Pro update. With this, Google says users will be able to generate more accurate, context-rich visuals based on enhanced reasoning, world knowledge and real-time information.
With the Nano Bananan Pro-infused Gemini app, users can visualise their thoughts on the screen. It can churn out diagrams or infographics by uploading a photo of the handwritten notes.
As you can see in the screen-grab below, the Nano Banana Pro-power Gemini app can offer a pictorial description of the plant. On the sides, there is a separate diagram of the leaf pattern, its origin and what care has to be provided to the plant to grow it at home. This will be very useful in understanding the topic and retaining the information in the mind's memory for a long time.

Nano Banana Pro can also connect to Google Search's vast knowledge base to help the user create a quick snapshot for a recipe or visualise real-time information like weather or sports.

It can even help with getting detailed text in mockups or posters with a wider variety of textures, fonts and calligraphy.
Beyond English, it can offer the details in multiple global languages, including Kannada, Hindi and more.
Also, the Gemini app will offer more control to refine an image generated by Nano Banana Pro. Users can just select, refine and transform any part of an image with improved localised editing in terms of adjusting camera angles, changing the focus and applying sophisticated colour grading, or even transform scene lighting as well.

Google is rolling out the Nano Banana Pro update to the Gemini app worldwide. Aforementioned features will be available when the users select ‘Create images’ with the ‘Thinking’ model.
However, it should be noted that free-tier users will receive limited free quotas, after which they will revert to the original Nano Banana model.
Whereas the Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers receive higher quotas. For AI Mode in Search, Nano Banana Pro is available in the US for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. For NotebookLM, Nano Banana Pro is also available for subscribers globally.
