Technology companies Dell, Vivo, Boult and others launched smartphones, computers, accessories and more this week (June 30-July 6, 2025).

Dell's Alienware Area-51 and Aurora series desktops

The new Alienware Area-51 comes with an Intel Core Ultra K-Series processor with a powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series (support for up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090) and NVIDIA Blackwell architecture.

it promises to deliver smooth performance be it running powerful code testing software or playing graphics-heavy games such as Alan Wake 2 or Valorant. It boasts of state of the art thermals and industry-standard overall architecture to remain stable and cool while performing heavy-duty tasks.

It has a custom-designed motherboard featuring advanced heatsinks for optimal thermal management, support for up to 1500W ATX12VO Platinum-rated power supplies, and a PCIe x16 Gen5 graphics slot built to handle today’s and tomorrow’s most powerful GPUs, including quad-slot cards up to 450mm in length. Furthermore, an optional AlienFX conversion kit ensures full connectivity with third-party motherboards, while an industry-first DIY-friendly QR code system marks commonly upgraded parts with scannable codes, providing step-by-step video guides for modifications and maintenance.

Dell also introduced Alienware Aurora. It comes equipped with up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 Series CPUs, up to 64GB of 6400MHz XMP RAM (a 23% increase in memory bandwidth), and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 GPUs, that not only boost current performance but also future proofs the system for whatever challenges lie ahead.

Its compact, purpose-built design is both functional and thermally optimised, featuring a 240mm CPU liquid cooling solution along with 120mm front and rear fans. This makes it adaptable to a variety of placements and living spaces, offering a minimalist yet high-performance design with exceptional cooling and acoustics. In comparison, the 2025 Aurora is 55% smaller in volume than the Area 51.

The Alienware Area-51 starts at Rs 5,09,263. And, the Alienware Aurora starts at Rs 1,92,526.

BenQ launches new monitors

BenQ earlier this week launched EW2790U (27-inch screen with 95% DCI-P3) and EW3290U (32-inch with 98% DCI-P3) Desktop monitors.

Both the models support true 4K UHD resolution (3840x2160) with HDR10 and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, which promises to deliver life-like visuals with deeper contrast and vibrant colours.

They are ideal for binge-watching, colour grading, or streaming your favourite content.

The EW90U series also features AI-Optimised Contrast, which can intelligently enhance content in real-time based on ambient and on-screen visuals, ensuring every scene appears exactly as the creator intended, without constant manual adjustment.

Unlike typical monitors that treat audio as an afterthought, the EW90U Series integrates studio-grade treVolo audio. The EW2790U includes dual 5W speakers, offering superior stereo sound.

The EW3290U features a 2.1-channel sound system featuring 2Wx2 speakers + 5W woofer, which can deliver depth-rich bass and surround clarity.

With six audio modes, users can personalise their listening experience for User, Dialogue/Vocal, Live/POP, Cinema, Game, and Studio Monitor—to suit various content genres.

They both support USB-C (65W Power Delivery), HDMI 2.0, and USB-A port.

BenQ EW2790U is priced at Rs 28,498, and the EW3290U at Rs 40,998.

It features a 6.74-inch HD+(1600×720p) LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 1000 nits peak brightness.

It also comes with IP64 water-and-dust-resistant rating, military-grade durability (MIL-STD-810H) durability certification, triple slots (for two nano SIMs and a microSD card), a 3.5mm audio jack, a type-C USB port and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Inside, it houses 6nm class MediaTek Dimensity 6300 octa-core with Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15, 4GB / 6GB /8GB LPDDR4x RAM, 128GB / 256GB storage (expandable up to 1TB), dual-camera module-- main 50MP (with Sony sensor, f/1.8), 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor with LED flash on the back, 5MP (f/2.2) front camera and a 6,000mAh battery with 15W charging speed capability.

It comes with prism blue and titanium gold colours. It is available in three configurations-- 4GB RAM + 128GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage--for Rs 9,999, 10,999 and Rs 12,999, respectively.

iQOO 13 in Ace Green

iQOO earlier this week launched the new iQOO 13 in the Ace Green colour variant.

It sports a 6.78-inch Quad HD+ (3168×1440p) curved BOE Q10 LTPO AMOLED 20:9 aspect ratio screen with HDR10+, 144Hz variable refresh rate, support up to 4500 nits peak brightness.

It also features an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, type-c port, and dual-SIM slots and the device comes with an IP68+69 water-and-dust resistant rating.

Inside, it houses a 3nm class Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite octa-core processor with Adreno 830 GPU, 12GB / 16GB LPDDR5X RAM with 256GB / 512GB / 1TB (UFS 4.0) storage, Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15, and a massive 6,150mAh battery with 120W charger.

It also boasts of triple-camera module--main 50MP camera (with 1/ 1.49-inch Sony IMX921 sensor, f/1.88 aperture, OIS: Optical Image Stabilisation) with 150-degree 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera (with f/2.0) and a 119.4-degree 50MP telephoto camera (with f/1.85, 1/2.93-inch IMX816 sensor, OIS, up to 4x lossless zoom) with LED flash.

On the front, it houses a 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.45 aperture.

It will be available in two configurations-- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 16GB RAM and 512GB storage-- for Rs 54,999 and Rs 59,999, respectively.

Sashikumar Sreedharan to become new MD of Google Cloud India

Google Cloud earlier this week announced that Sashikumar Sreedharan will succeed Bikram Singh Bedi as its new Managing Director for India.

“My time as COO for APAC has deeply affirmed my belief in Google Cloud’s winning strategy and powerful AI-first platform. I am excited to return to the field and to work with our customers to advance their innovation agenda," said Sashikumar Sreedharan

Sreedharan, a technology industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, joined Google Cloud as Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific in September 2023, based in Bangalore. In this new role, he will lead Google Cloud’s go-to-market organization in India, working with the company’s enterprise and digital native customers, valued partners, and vibrant developer ecosystem as they build for an AI-first future.

Xiaomi brings Champagne Gold variant of Redmi Note 14 Pro and 14 Pro+

The new variant joins the spectre blue, titan black, and phantom purple vegan leather of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G, and ivy Green, titan black, and the dual-tone phantom purple vegan leather edition on the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro and the 14 Pro+ sport the same display. They have a 6.67-inch 1.5K (2712×1220p) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, support up to 3,000 nits peak brightness, and are protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus 2 shield.

The standard Redmi Note 14 Pro features a 4nm class 2.5GHz MediaTek Dimensity 7300 octa-core processor with Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS, 8GB LPDDRX RAM, 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage and a 5,500mAh battery with 45W max charging speed.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ houses a triple-camera module-- main 50MP (Light Fusion 800, 1/1.55-inch, OIS), 8MP (Sony IMX355) ultra-wide-angle camera and 50MP (Samsung S5KJN1) portrait telephoto sensor with LED flash.

Whereas the Redmi Note 14 Pro features a triple-camera module--main 50MP (with Sony LYT-600 sensor, f/1.5 aperture) with 8MP (Sony IMX355, f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro camera with LED flash.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro comes in two configurations-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 22,999 and Rs 24,999, respectively.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ comes in three options-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage-- for Rs 27,999, Rs 29,999 and Rs 32,999, respectively.

The new Buds come with an hourglass-inspired design and features Quad Mic ANC for clear calls and noise cancellation.

Epson opens India's first inkjet printer manufacturing unit

In a boost to the central government's 'Make in India' initiative, Japanese consumer electronics major Epson in collaboration with supply partner RIKUN, has set up a printer manufacturing unit in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

This is Epson's first-ever factory unit in India and will commence operations later this year in October.

“This is a historic occasion for Epson. India is crucial to our growth and offers immense opportunity for innovation and leadership, with its fast-growing economy, youthful population, and digital progress,” said Junkichi Yoshida, Global President of Seiko Epson Corporation.

To date, over 8 million EcoTank printers have been sold in India, contributing to a global total of over 100 million EcoTank printers sold since launch. Epson is touted to be the numero uno Inkjet printer brand in India by market share.

Samsung adds more entertainment channels on Samsung TV Plus portal
