Apple Music opens state-of-the-art studio to mark 10th anniversary

Apple Music, an audio and video service, went live a decade ago, exactly on this day, June 30 in 2015.

Besides the audio and video songs, Apple Music also hosts several popular live radio stations such as Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits, Apple Music Country, Apple Música Uno, Apple Music Club, and Apple Music Chill. They broadcast live on over 200 nations 24x7.

Now, as the company marks its 10th anniversary, it has opened a state-of-the-art studio in Los Angeles, US.

“Apple Music Radio has always been a home for storytelling and artistry, serving as a space for bold conversations and surprising moments. With this new studio, we are furthering our commitment to creating a space for artists to create, connect, and share their vision,” said Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s co-head.

Apple Music Studio, which is slated to begin operations in the coming weeks, houses two advanced radio studios with immersive Spatial Audio playback and adaptable setups for live interviews, casual chats, or impromptu performances.

It also has a 4,000-square-foot soundstage to host live performances, multicam shoots, fan events, and screenings.

Apple Music Studio also features a dedicated Spatial Audio mixing room outfitted with a 9.2.4 PMC speaker system for next-level sound production. Additionally, it has a dedicated photo and social media lab, edit room, and green room to support real-time content creation.

There are also isolation booths for songwriting, podcasting, and one-on-one interviews.

Like the Hollywood Walk of Fame in California, Apple Music Studio will feature A-List Corridor and an Archive Corridor, which will showcase images and artwork of memorable moments from Apple Music’s past and present.

Besides Los Angeles, Apple Music has hubs in New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, and Nashville. The company has plans to set up similar hubs in more global regions in the coming years.

To mark the 10-year milestone, the company said that Apple Music Radio will feature a week of specials and live programming, kicking off with “Don’t Be Boring: The Birth of Apple Music Radio with Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden” on June 30, from 6:00 am to 8:00 am PST (6:30 pm to 8:30 pm IST).

Further, Zane, Ebro, and special guests will also reminisce about the last 10 years of Apple Music Radio. Then, from 8:00 am PST (8:30 pm IST, June 30) to 4:00 pm PST (4:30 am IST, July 1), listeners can tune in to the '10 Years of Apple Music' special. This eight-hour broadcast event on Apple Music 1 will tell the stories of the greatest artist moments, exclusive releases, live events, and cultural milestones that Apple delivered in the last ten years.
