Now, popular smartphone maker Motorola has released Android 16 to three premium phones-- Edge 60 Pro, Edge 60 Fusion, and Edge 50 Pro-- in India.

The new Android 16 brings the refreshing Material-3 Expressive UI. Once updated to the latest version, the user interface on Motorola phones will be more fluid in terms of smooth transition, a natural, expressive animation while launching an app or while switching between apps.

The new OS update introduces Notification Auto Grouping, which ensures a clutter-free lockscreen as apps are prevented from overwhelming the user with multiple alerts.

It also offers improved support for hearing devices, provides clearer calls and easier control across brands, including LE Audio devices for noisy environments. Instant Hotspot allows devices signed into the same Google account to connect automatically without the need for passwords, offering frictionless connectivity across tablets and Chromebooks.

Further, it brings “Modes”, a new feature that lets users personalise their device behaviour based on activity, whether sleeping, driving, or working. Each mode can control notifications, app behaviour, and display or sound settings.

It also introduces the Advanced Protection, which fortifies the phone's security.

Users will also experience a refreshed interface, smarter system settings, new diagnostics tools, expanded battery insights, improved accessibility, and Moto Secure 5.5 with features like Secure Power-Off, ensuring that Motorola devices remain future-ready.

Here's how to install Android 16 on your Motorola phone:

Open Settings >> System Updates >> tap Check for updates. Just follow the on-screen prompts to download and install any available software.
