American silicon major Qualcomm unveiled the new generation of Snapdragon X2 Elite, Extreme series for computer.
The new Snapdragon X2 Elite series chipset houses 3rd Gen Qualcomm Oryon CPU, which promises faster and most power-efficient performance for Windows PCs.
The new Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme series houses 18-core chipset —with 12 prime cores, out of which two cores capable of clocking a record 5GHz CPU and rest 10 cores can reach 4.4GHz and the rest six cores can clock 3.6Ghz speed.
The standard X2 Elite chipset too comes with 18-core CPU configurations having 12 prime cores, where two can clock up to 4.7Ghz speed, and the other 10 core can reach 4GHz and rest of six performance core can reach 3.4Ghz.
With such powerful Oryon cores, the chipset can improve up to 75 per cent faster CPU performance than the rival brands at ISO power.

And with the new Qualcomm Adreno Graphics Processing Unit architecture, it offers a 2.3X increase in performance per watt and power efficiency over the previous generation.
The Qualcomm Hexagon Neural Processing Unit (NPU) supports 80 TOPS of AI processing—the world’s fastest NPU for laptops—to run multiple AI apps concurrently in Copilot+ PCs.
Qualcomm confirmed that the first laptops with the latest Snapdragon X2 Lite chipsets will hit stores in the first half of 2026.
Taiwan-based Asus will be the first Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to bring their laptops with X2 Elite silicon. More OEMs including Microsoft, HP, Lenovo will also be bringing new laptops by the end of June 2026.
Besides the new X2 Elite series chipset for the computers, Qualcomm introduced the all-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Android smartphones.
