Vivo on Monday (August 4) launched the new line of mid-range phone Y500 5G series in India.
The new Vivo Y500 sports a 6.67-inch full HD (2400 × 1080p) AMOLED display and offers up to 1800 nits brightness, 120 Hz refresh rate and pixel density of 394 ppi (pixels per inch).
It also features an in-display fingerprint sensor, a Type-C port, dual-SIM slots (nano SIM-1 + nano SIM-2) and an IP68 + IP69 water-and-dust rating, which means the device can survive water splashes and accidental falls in a swimming pool for close to 1.5 metres (around five feet) for up to 30 minutes.
Inside, it is powered by a 4nm class Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 octa-core processor, which can clock a peak CPU speed of 2.2GHz. It is more than enough to run all popular apps and even some gaming titles available on the Google Play Store.
Further, the device supports several generative Artificial Intelligence features, including AI Transcript Assist, AI Note Assist, AI Documents, screen translation, Circle to Search, and more.

The device also comes with Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB/256GB (UFS 3.1) storage, and a 6,000mAh battery with a 90W charger.
The Y400 features a dual-camera module-- a main 50MP (f/1.8 aperture) camera with a 2MP (2.4) sensor with LED flash. On the front, it houses a 32MP (f/2.45) camera for selfies and video calling
Vivo Y400 5G comes in two colours-- Glam White and Olive Green. It is available in two variants-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 21,999 and Rs 23,999, respectively.

Vivo Y400 will be competing with OnePlus Nord CE 5 (review), Motorola Moto G96, and iQOO Z10 (review), among others.
