After conducting weeks of beta testing, Nothing Inc has begun rolling out the latest Android 15-based NothingOS (NOS) 3.0 update to eligible phones.
The new NOS 3.0 comes with several improvements including a new native Nothing Gallery app. It has innovative features, including an advanced search function and expanded editing tools like filters, markup and suggestions.
Users can create customised widgets of their favourite app and can also share them with their friends.
It also brings enhanced productivity widgets like the new Countdown Widget which allows users to stay on track with their work.

NOS 3.0 also introduces an AI-powered Smart Drawer that can automatically categorise apps into folders for more efficient organisation and phone access.
Further, the new update promises to improve the device's performance by making apps load faster with lively animation.
Android update also brings brings Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock and Remote Lock.
For the Theft Detection Lock, Google has fed critical information to the Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm such as sudden speed associated with theft. Robbers usually snatch the device and run or drive away in a vehicle.
Theft Detection makes full use of the on-device AI tech and sensors to instantly know the phone has been snatched and initiates the screen lock process.

Currently, NOS 3.0 is rolling out to Phone (2) and Phone (2a) in phases worldwide and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
Other devices including Nothing Phone (1), Phone (2a) Plus, and CMF Phone 1, are slated to get a new NOS 3.0 update in early 2025.
Here's how to install the latest NothingOS 3.0 update on your phone:
Step 1: Go to Settings >> System >> System Update
Ensure the device has more than 50 per cent battery life. Also, it is recommended to download the new update via a Wi-Fi internet connection, as the software update is big.
