After launching Sora AI video generator, SearchGPT, OpenAI has announced to bring the generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) ChatGPT bot to Meta's Whatsapp messenger app.
The company's chief product officer Kevin Wei said users can chat with ChatGPT on WhatsApp.
However, the option to chat with ChatGPT is limited to the US and Canada regions only.
Users can chat with ChatGPT on WhatsApp to access ChatGPT. As this is a pilot programme, users can interact with the bot for 15 minutes per phone number per month.
Here's how to access the ChatGPT bot on Meta's WhatsApp:
On WhatsApp, type 1-800-242-8478 and this number comes with the WhatsApp verified badge in the chat. And, once you get access and enter the session, you can interact with the ChatGPT.
As of now, users can only type messages to ChatGPT and respond in texts only. There is no provision for ChatGPT search or image chatting as such.
It should be noted that the conversation with the ChatGPT on WhatsApp will be stored by OpenAI. It is said to be part of safety measures to prevent abuse of chatbots. The company has the right to block the access if the user violates or has an inappropriate conversation.
In a related development, OpenAI has also launched Canvas AI tool. It is best suited to software code developers.
There, the ChatGPT 4o bot can provide detailed suggestions and logical solutions to improve the codes.
The Canvas tool is capable of intuitively understanding the code. It can independently detect and rewrite problematic code to resolve errors. This will greatly help in fast-tracking in completion of the software programme.
The Canvas feature is available for ChatGPT Pro($200 approx. Rs 16,937 per month) and ChatGPT Plus ($20 approx. Rs 1,950 per month) subscribers.
