Vivo on Monday (February 17) launched the new premium mid-range smartphone V50 5G series in India.

The latest device sports a 6.77-inch full HD+ (2392×1080p) curved AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 4500 nits peak brightness. It is protected by Diamond Shield Glass.

It also features an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, USB type-c audio, stereo speakers and dual SIM slots.

Vivo V50 comes with a 64-bit 4nm class Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 octa-core processor with Adreno 720 GPU, Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15, 8GB / 12GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB / 256GB / 512GB UFS 2.2 storage and a 6,000mAh battery with 90W.

It also boasts of ZEISS dual-camera module-- main 50MP (with 1/1.55-inch Omnivision OV50E sensor, f/1.88 aperture, OIS: Optica Image Stabilisation, ZEISS optics,) with 50MP ultra-wide camera (with Samsung JN1 sensor, f/2.0) with LED flash.

On the front, it comes with a 50MP autofocus camera (with Samsung JN1 sensor, f/2.0). Both the primary and front cameras can record 4K videos.

A notable aspect of the Vivo V50's photography feature is the wedding portrait mode exclusive to the Indian market. The Wedding Portrait Studio modes-- Pastel, Neo-Retro, Prosecco and a Film Camera mode which incorporates colourful frames around pictures.

The new Vivo V50 comes in three colours-- rose red, titanium grey and starry night. The latter is touted to be India’s first phone with 3D–Star Technology. It has a special colour-coordinated case, which transforms dynamically under different lighting, mimicking a starry sky under spotlights or a meteor shower under a long lamp. The effect of stereoscopic holographic display depends on the light source.

The Vivo V50 is available in three configurations-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage-- for Rs 34,999, Rs 36,999 and Rs 40,999. It is slated to go on sale from February 25 onwards on the Vivo official website, Flipkart, Amazon, and all partner retail stores in India.
