The TDP and the TRS, which secured majority in the Assembly elections, are all set to form governments in Seemandhra and Telangana, respectively, after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh on June 2.

In Odisha, the BJD will form the government for the fourth time in a row. The only consolation for the Congress, which was routed in the Lok Sabha elections, is that it has got a simple majority to form the government in Arunachal Pradesh while the Sikkim Democratic Front will rule Sikkim for a record fifth term.

According to reports from Hyderabad, the TDP has won 103 constituencies in the 175-seat strong Andhra Pradesh (Seemandhra) Assembly. The YSRC could secure only 67 seats. In Telangana, the TRS has won 65 seats in the 119-member House. The Congress settled for 17 seats.

The Naveen Patnaik-led BJD is all set to improve upon its 2009 tally of 103 seats in the 147-member House, a report from Bhubaneswar said.

A report from Itanagar said the ruling Congress in Arunachal Pradesh has secured a simple majority, winning 30 of the total 60 Assembly seats, including 11 which it won uncontested. The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) has stormed to power winning 22 seats in the 32-member Assembly.
